Madonna has expressed her anger over Donald Trump’s re-election, calling him a “convicted felon, rapist, bigot”.
Taking to Instagram, she questioned why someone with such a controversial background was chosen to lead the country, solely based on his economic policies. She even shared a photo of a cake with “Fuck Trump” written on it, stating that she indulged in it to cope with her feelings.
This is not the first time Madonna has criticized Trump. In 2017, at the Women’s March in Washington DC, she made a controversial statement about thinking of blowing up the White House. Following backlash, she clarified that she does not promote violence and urged people to understand her full speech.
Billie Eilish has also expressed disappointment over Trump’s re-election. During a concert in Nashville, she referred to him as a “convicted predator” and someone who deeply hates women. She emphasized the importance of feeling safe and protected in her presence.
While Trump has not faced criminal charges for rape or predatory behavior, a civil claim in 2023 found it to be “substantially true” that he raped journalist E Jean Carroll. In a separate case in 2022, Trump was found liable for sexual abuse against Carroll. He was also recently convicted of falsifying business records in May, becoming the first former president to be convicted of a crime.
Various musicians, including Jack White, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, and Ethel Cain, expressed their dismay over Trump’s re-election. They joined other entertainment figures in condemning the election results and vowing to continue fighting against tyranny.
