During a recent interview, director Chris Sanders shared some exciting news about the future of DreamWorks Animation. He confirmed that The Wild Robot 2 is currently in development.
“100% yes, there are absolutely plans for a second one,” Sanders told Deadline regarding the sequel. The Wild Robot 2 will once again be directed by Sanders and will be based on Peter Brown’s second Wild Robot novel, titled The Wild Robot Escapes.
The sequel book follows the story of Robot Roz, who finds herself shipwrecked on a remote, wild island. She must learn from the unwelcoming animal inhabitants and adapt to her surroundings. However, the real challenge lies in whether she can survive the civilized world and ultimately find her way back home to Brightbill and the island.
