The Tubs reveal latest album, debut new track ‘Freak Mode’

The Tubs have announced the upcoming release of their second album, Cotton Crown, set to be released on March 7 through Trouble in Mind. The London-based Welsh band, who describe themselves as a “Celtic jangle boyband,” have shared a preview of their new album with the release of a single titled ‘Freak Mode’.

‘Freak Mode’ was inspired by vocalist Owen “O” Williams’ experience of dating while grieving the death of his mother. Williams explains that the song delves into the concept of making romantic assumptions while dealing with grief, and the complexities of being emotionally vulnerable in a relationship.

The new album, Cotton Crown, was written by Williams in the aftermath of his mother’s suicide. The album artwork features a poignant photo of Williams as a baby being breastfed by his mother, folk singer Charlotte Greig, in a graveyard. The photo was taken around the time of Greig’s debut album release.

Cotton Crown Tracklist:
1. The Thing Is
2. Freak Mode
3. Illusion
4. Narcissist
5. Chain Reaction
6. Embarrassing
7. One More Day
8. Fair Enough
9. Strange
