Paul Mescal discovers his next film ‘The Dog Stars’ directed by Ridley Scott – OutLoud! Culture

Paul Mescal has been chosen to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming film, The Dog Stars. According to Deadline, both the actor and director will collaborate once again for The Dog Stars, which is based on a novel by Peter Heller from 2012. The movie, to be distributed by 20th Century Studios, is scheduled to start filming in the spring. Ridley Scott’s Bee Gees biopic for Paramount is anticipated to follow in the fall of 2025.

The Dog Stars is set in a future where an unnamed pandemic has devastated American society. The story follows a civilian pilot who lives a solitary life on a deserted airbase in Colorado with his dog and a rugged ex-marine. Despite their differences, the two men rely on each other to defend against intruders. When a mysterious transmission is picked up on the pilot’s radio, he is filled with hope for a better life beyond their restricted perimeter. Taking a leap of faith, he embarks on a journey beyond his comfort zone, following the faint signal.
