Luca Guadagnino to helm upcoming ‘American Psycho’ film for OutLoud! Culture

Director Luca Guadagnino has been announced as the director of a new American Psycho movie. The upcoming film will be based on a script by Scott Z. Burns, with early indications suggesting that it will not be a remake, but rather a fresh adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel.

In a statement, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson praised Guadagnino’s talent as a “brilliant artist.” He expressed excitement about having the esteemed filmmaker on board for the project, stating, “Luca is a brilliant artist, and the perfect visionary to create a whole new interpretation of this potent and classic IP.”
