Beyoncé transforms into Pamela Anderson in new music video released on election day

Beyoncé has recently appeared in her first music video since 2021, where she dressed up as Pamela Anderson and encouraged Americans to vote.

The music video, titled Beywatch, features the song “Bodyguard” from her country-inspired album Cowboy Carter, which was released in March. The video, with the caption “Happy Beylloween,” coincides with the US election period.

In the video, Beyoncé is seen wearing a platinum blond wig and embodying characters from Pamela Anderson’s iconic roles in Baywatch and Barb Wire. At one point, she is shown holding a toy gun that shoots out a flag with the word “Vote!” on it.

Beyoncé has been vocal about her support for a specific candidate in the election. She permitted Kamala Harris to use her song “Freedom” for her campaign and publicly endorsed her at a rally in Houston in October. Beyoncé described Harris as a woman advocating for the country’s true needs, emphasizing issues like freedom to control one’s body and unity among people.

Interestingly, the Pamela Anderson costume is not the only Halloween costume Beyoncé has sported this season. She has also been seen dressed as Betty Davis and characters from the film Purple Rain, originally portrayed by Prince and Apollonia Kotero.

While Beyoncé has directed many of her music videos, fans have expressed frustration over the lack of visuals for her recent albums, Cowboy Carter and Renaissance. Despite elaborate visuals being created for the latter’s world tour, they were not utilized in music videos. Instead, Beyoncé opted to produce a documentary/concert film that documented the tour preparations and performances.
