Beyoncé earns top spot with 11 Grammy award nominations | Grammys

Beyoncé leads the pack with 11 nominations for the 67th Grammy Awards, setting the stage for another year dominated by female artists.

Her album Cowboy Carter has earned her nods in the country, pop, and Americana categories, making it her most nominated year yet. She now shares the record for most-nominated artist with her husband, Jay-Z.

Despite being the most awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, Beyoncé has yet to win album of the year.

In the album of the year category, she is up against André 3000, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Jacob Collier, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift.

Following Beyoncé with seven nominations each are Kendrick Lamar, Charli xcx, Post Malone, and Billie Eilish. Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter each have six nominations.

Breakout star Chappell Roan continues her successful year and is a favorite in the best new artist category, along with Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims.

The record of the year category includes The Beatles – Now and Then, Beyoncé – Texas Hold ‘Em, Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso, Charli xcx – 360, Kendrick Lamar – Not Like Us, Chappell Roan – Good Luck Babe, and Taylor Swift and Post Malone – Fortnight.

The song of the year category features Shaboozey’s A Bar Song (Tipsy), Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’s Die with a Smile, Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s Fortnight, Chappell Roan’s Good Luck Babe, Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please, and Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em.

The dance categories also saw recognition for Justice, Troye Sivan, and Disclosure, while the rock categories were dominated by The Black Keys and Green Day. R&B categories included Chris Brown, Muni Long, and Lucky Daye.

Kendrick Lamar leads the rap categories with the most nominations, competing against Eminem and J Cole.

Dolly Parton, Jimmy Carter, and Barbra Streisand are featured in the audio book category, and Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais are in the comedy album lineup.

The CEO of the recording academy, Harvey Mason Jr, emphasized the power of music as a force for good in his statement. The awards are decided by a voting body of 13,000 members, and no new categories were added this year.

Earlier this year, Taylor Swift made history by winning album of the year for the fourth time with Midnights.

The 67th Grammy Awards are set to take place on February 2, 2025, with the host yet to be announced.
