Announcement of Debut Album by jasmine.4.t, Produced by boygenius, and Release of New Single

Jasmine.4.t, the stage name of singer-songwriter Jasmine Cruickshank from Manchester, has announced the release of her debut album, “You Are the Morning”. Set to be released on January 17 through Saddest Factory Records, the album was produced by Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. Members of the band boygenius and the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles also provided backing vocals on the album. The tracklist includes the previously released single “Skin on Skin” and a new track called “Elephant”, which was released today.

“I wrote ‘Elephant’ early on in my transition about my first love in the trans community,” Cruickshank shared in a statement. “It’s a song about the pain that comes from wanting more than just a friendship. When I came out in Bristol, my life fell apart and I had no safe place to stay, so I found myself sleeping on the sofas of queer friends in Manchester, dealing with trauma and not ready for a relationship. Recording this track in LA with Phoebe, Lucy, and Julien, along with my friends from Manchester and local trans musicians, was a healing experience, including the incredible Trans Chorus of Los Angeles.”
