Finance ministry projects 3% growth for Thai economy in the upcoming year

Thailand’s economy is projected to expand by 3% in 2025, driven by factors such as private consumption, exports, investment, and tourism, according to the finance ministry. The country, which is the second-largest economy in Southeast Asia, is expected to grow by 2.7% this year, a forecast that remains unchanged. In 2021, Thailand’s growth was recorded at 1.9%, falling behind other countries in the region.

The finance ministry also anticipates a total of 36 million foreign tourist arrivals in Thailand this year, with a further increase to 39 million foreign tourists expected in 2025. Furthermore, the ministry predicts that exports will grow by 2.9% this year, surpassing the previous forecast of 2.7%. Looking ahead to 2025, exports are forecasted to increase by 3.1%.
