Donald Trump throws French fries while visiting McDonald’s

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took over the fry station at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania before holding an impromptu news conference through the drive-thru window.

As onlookers watched, Trump learned how to prepare fries, expressing surprise that he didn’t have to touch them with his hands. He even joked about the expertise required to do it right and fast.

The visit was in response to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ claims of working at McDonald’s during college, a story Trump has disputed without evidence.

A large crowd gathered outside the restaurant in Feasterville-Trevose, part of a key swing voter area north of Philadelphia. Later, Trump attended a town hall in Lancaster before heading to watch a football game.

After serving takeout to customers in the drive-thru, Trump answered questions from the media outside the window. He also joked about getting ice cream for a reporter and wished Harris a happy birthday.

Trump praised the hard work of McDonald’s employees but did not directly address whether he would support increased minimum wages.

Trump has been fixated on Harris’ claims of working at McDonald’s, accusing her of lying without proof. Harris has defended her past work experience at the fast-food chain.

Trump has a history of spreading groundless claims about his opponents, particularly women and racial minorities.

Police closed the streets around the McDonald’s during Trump’s visit, creating a spectacle in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s love for McDonald’s Big Macs and Filet-o-Fish sandwiches is well-known, and he often eats from the chain while traveling.

Republican strategist Barrett Marson called Trump’s focus on Harris’ McDonald’s job a “puzzling detour,” suggesting Trump is willing to discuss anything to divert attention.
