Weekly Classroom Instruction Resources

Every week, I share a post or two featuring three or four valuable resources on classroom instruction, which you can find all listed here. You can also explore all my “Best” lists on instructional strategies here. Here are the top picks for this week:

“The Case Against Grading Homework” is an article from Edutopia that challenges the traditional practice of grading homework. I will be including it in The Best Resources For Learning About Homework Issues.

“5 Ways to Make Homework More Meaningful” is another insightful piece from Edutopia. I will also be adding this to the same list mentioned above.

I came across a tweet that I found interesting and relevant to The Best Posts & Articles About Asking Good Questions — Help Me Find More:

Another resource from Edutopia worth exploring is “How to Approach Teaching About the Japanese American Incarceration.” This will be a valuable addition to The Best Resources On Japanese American Internment In World War II.

Some fun pre-activities leading into this topic include:
✔️ “shape of school year” reflection/partner chat
✔️ tour of the book covers from the course
✔️ title brainstorm with sticky note below, with every student sharing out one of their answers whole-class pic.twitter.com/L3OEgEInZJ

I also found a tweet that offers a great idea for using mini-whiteboards in the classroom, which I will add to SOME “BEST” IDEAS FOR USING MINI-WHITEBOARDS IN THE CLASSROOM:
