Negotiations Underway for Joint Event Between Team Trump and Nikki Haley

Marc Caputo reported that there are ongoing negotiations to convince Nikki Haley to moderate a town hall with Trump in the final days of the campaign. The Trump team is aware of his low ratings among women, primarily due to the reproductive rights issue. Having Haley by his side could potentially help him appeal to women voters. Trump has already held events with prominent MAGA women, such as former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, and Fox News personality Harris Faulkner. Haley’s involvement would be a strategic move to reassure women who are upset about Trump’s Supreme Court decisions regarding their reproductive rights.

According to Caputo’s article in the Bulwark, Nikki Haley, Trump’s former ambassador and primary rival, is in discussions to join him on the campaign trail to win over disaffected Republicans. The details and schedule for their joint appearance have not been finalized, but it is likely that they will participate in a town hall towards the end of the month, possibly moderated by Fox News personality Sean Hannity.

In an effort to address the gender gap in his support base, Trump’s campaign has organized five town halls moderated by female political figures since August. However, having Haley, with her political stature and history as a primary opponent, would be a significant addition. Despite their past differences, Haley spoke in support of Trump at the Republican National Convention in July.

Since then, Haley and Trump have not made any joint appearances. In a recent episode of her SiriusXM radio show, Haley hinted at lingering tensions between them by stating that she does not agree with Trump on everything and recalling past criticisms directed at her and her husband by the former president.

While Haley’s comments raised eyebrows in Trump’s inner circle, they also recognize the value of her support in winning over establishment Republicans. Trump values winning over blind loyalty and understands that Haley’s more moderate brand could be beneficial in the upcoming election, despite their past conflicts during the primary.
