Google Keeps Pushing Forward with Multiple New AI Tools, Yet I Remain Skeptical of Their Environmental Impact.

Google’s AI experiments continue to explore different possibilities, but they have yet to achieve significant success.

The latest announcement includes four new tools, each showcasing innovative features but limited practicality.

One of these tools, Talking Tours, stands out for its potential use. It now offers audio tours of over fifty famous locations worldwide, accompanied by an AI-generated commentary. Users can also ask questions during the tour. This tool could be beneficial for English Language Learners and Geography classes, as it provides real-time audio transcripts. However, the AI speaks at a rapid pace, and there is no option to adjust the speed.

If these types of tools represent the best AI applications that Google can develop, it suggests that we may be in an AI bubble that could eventually burst.
