Operation Avro is a police operation that takes place in a different district of Greater Manchester each month.
On October 24, officers arrested over 20 people for crimes including robbery.
Additionally, 88 drivers were apprehended for various driving offenses on Manchester Road in Partington, Shaftesbury Avenue in Timperley, and outside the Trafford Centre, while another 148 drivers were caught speeding across Trafford.
A shop in Stretford could face closure due to selling a knife to an undercover underage customer. There were also incidents related to knife crime at Sale High School, Sale Metrolink, and Trafford Bar Metrolink.
There were also concerns addressed regarding anti-social behavior at Altrincham Interchange, Altrincham Retail Park, and Turn Moss Playing Fields, where anti-social behavior involving off-road bikes is a particular issue.
Superintendent Marcus Noden, of GMP Trafford, stated: “Operation Avro is ongoing across the area, intensifying police and partnership resources. Criminals will be apprehended, and proactive policing will take place at various locations, including the Trafford Centre. There will also be traffic operations, partnership initiatives with Trading Standards, and school-based efforts to tackle anti-social behavior and knife crime.
“I would like to thank the community for their support in making this operation a success.”
