Elon Musk plans security upgrades following negative magazine designation as ‘Public Enemy No. 2’

Elon Musk stated Sunday that he plans to upgrade his security after being labeled an enemy of the people by a left-wing German magazine.

During a town hall discussion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Musk expressed his support for former President Donald Trump’s candidacy. While addressing the audience, Musk mentioned the tense political climate leading up to the November presidential election.

He mentioned his recent appearance on the cover of Der Spiegel, where he was referred to as “Public Enemy No. 2,” second only to Trump.

“I’m like, enemy number 2 of what? Uh, democracy? I mean I’m pro-democracy. I’m literally trying to uphold the Constitution and ensure we have a free and fair election,” Musk stated, receiving applause from the crowd.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, made these comments at a town hall event alongside Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick at the Roxain Theater on October 20, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“I’m definitely upgrading my security. Guess I better cancel that open-car parade,” Musk joked, alluding to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Musk also expressed being “a little shook” by the “level of vitriolic hatred on the left.”

“They claim they’re tolerant. And yet, they’re incredibly intolerant and spewing hate,” Musk remarked. “Whereas on the right I see people who tend to regard people on the left as, well, misguided. But they don’t hate them… but the amount of hate coming from the left is like, wow, next level.”

Fox News Digital has requested a response from Der Spiegel regarding the labeling of Musk as an enemy of the people.
