26-year-old man taken into custody following hospitalization of 47-year-old man

According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), they received a call regarding an assault on Flixton Road just before 1am this morning (Sunday, October 20).

A 47-year-old man reportedly sustained facial injuries and was taken to the hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Presently, a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

A spokesperson for GMP stated: “Officers were alerted to an assault on Flixton Road in Urmston at approximately 12:55am this morning (Sunday, October 20).

“The 47-year-old male victim suffered facial injuries that are not considered life-changing or life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“A 26-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He is currently in police custody.”
