PM Modi warns of internal and external forces seeking to destabilize India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (October 31, 2024) said that there are some forces both within and outside India that are attempting to destabilize the country and sow chaos in order to tarnish its reputation on the global stage.

He made these remarks while speaking at a gathering near the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, located in Gujarat’s Narmada district, where he had just paid his respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of the late leader’s birth anniversary, celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ or National Unity Day since 2014.

“Certain elements within and outside India are trying to disrupt the country and promote disorder in order to paint a negative picture of the nation internationally. They are working to sow divisions based on caste and are opposed to a prosperous India,” the PM stated.

He called on the citizens of the country to identify the network of “urban Naxals” who, he claimed, are seeking to fracture the unity of the nation.

“Just as Naxalism is fading away from the forests, a new breed of urban Naxals is emerging. These urban Naxals now target even those who advocate for unity and safety. We must uncover and expose these urban Naxals,” he urged. Some skeptics initially doubted the feasibility of India’s unification, but Sardar Patel made it a reality, noted Mr. Modi, mentioning that the country will commemorate Patel’s 150th birth anniversary for the next two years.

“Our nation is progressing towards the implementation of a ‘one nation, one secular civil code’ which will fortify our country. We are also working towards the introduction of the ‘one nation, one election’ initiative, which will bolster our democracy,” he added.

“For the first time in 70 years, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir has taken the oath on the Constitution,” he highlighted, crediting the government’s efforts over the past decade for the imminent demise of Naxalism in India.
