The chain filed for bankruptcy in May after closing over 50 locations due to significant losses from the promotion. Damola Adamolekun, a former P.F. Chang’s CEO, was appointed as the new CEO in August, aiming to steer Red Lobster back on course.

Adamolekun acknowledged past mistakes, particularly the excessive reliance on the Endless Shrimp promotion, which resulted in financial losses and operational strain. Under his leadership, the company plans to implement significant changes, including restaurant repairs, menu simplification, and a commitment to no further closures. In addition to these changes, Red Lobster is revamping its executive team, appointing experienced restaurant leaders to key positions. Bob Baker was named the new CFO, bringing a wealth of restaurant leadership experience. Nichole Robillard was also appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer, known for her successful rebranding efforts at Smokey Bones.

Despite requests for comment on the new leadership appointments, Red Lobster remained silent. Adamolekun reassured customers and investors in mid-September that the brand was on a positive trajectory post-bankruptcy, emphasizing a new chapter in the company’s history.
