Fans of Coronation Street are eager to find out the whereabouts of the missing star.

Fans have been preparing to bid farewell to the legendary character Gail Platt after 50 years on screen, but many have been puzzled by her apparent absence in recent episodes.

Confusion Among Corrie Fans Regarding ‘Missing’ Gail Platt

Venting on a forum, one frustrated Coronation Street viewer wrote: “Maybe she is displeased with how the events have unfolded and refused to participate as much as originally planned?

“Wasn’t it initially stated (when Martin was supposed to be involved) that she was very satisfied with Gail’s exit storyline?

“After it was rewritten, maybe she now feels it is just as unsuitable as we all do and can’t bring herself to do more than the bare minimum.”

According to The Sun, another user responded: “I could see this being the case. If they needed to reshoot, that’s fine, but I wonder if she wasn’t going to come back for that.

“She’s not present, Jesse has no real connection to anything; there’s nothing to gain from this story.

“They might as well just say Gail has already left and is off in Thailand to be honest.”

A third person chimed in: “So Gail isn’t appearing but random long-forgotten character Jesse is, seems so random, why bother having him on set at all until Gail is. We know Coronation Street; they will make him a permanent character once Gail departs.”

Announcing her departure from the popular ITV show, Helen Worth, who portrays Gail Platt, stated: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world.

“I made the decision at the beginning of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.

“I have been truly fortunate to have received the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have collaborated with fantastic actors, directors, and a brilliant crew.

“The past 50 years have gone by in a flash, and I don’t think the reality of my departure has quite sunk in yet.”
