The ruling Labour Party in the UK has denied allegations made by former US President Donald Trump’s campaign team that members of the British party have interfered in the upcoming US election.

Trump’s campaign team accused the Labour Party of foreign interference in the election after party volunteers traveled to various battleground states in the US to campaign for Democratic nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris.

A Labour Party spokesperson stated that it is common practice for campaigners from around the world to volunteer in US elections. Labour activists who participate do so at their own expense and in accordance with laws and rules.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also rejected the accusations during a visit to Samoa in the South Pacific, stating that Labour Party volunteers have been participating in elections for some time.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner mentioned in Parliament that people often campaign in their own time and with their own money, and this happens in all political parties.

Trump’s campaign team filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, alleging illegal foreign national contributions by the Labour Party of the UK to Kamala Harris’s campaign.

The complaint called for an investigation based on media reports suggesting collaboration between the Labour Party and the Harris campaign.

The complaint referenced a LinkedIn post by Sofia Patel, the head of operations at Labour, which mentioned Labour Party staff members traveling to campaign in several US states.

Trump’s campaign team claimed that the post and other evidence indicated illegal foreign contributions being made to the Harris campaign.

Overall, the accusations of foreign interference in the US election by the Labour Party have been denied by UK officials, who maintain that volunteers participate in campaigns voluntarily and in compliance with regulations.
