Over 1,000 positions available at Manchester Airport job fair

The event at Wythenshawe Forum on November 7 will have roles available in everything from airport security to hospitality.

The event is free to attend and will run from 10am to 1pm.

It will give visitors the opportunity to find out more about a career in aviation by speaking directly to more than a dozen employers based at the airport site.

More than 1,000 roles will be on offer at the event, including around 250 with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the company that owns and operates Manchester Airport, East Midlands, and London Stansted Airports.

Other employers who will be represented at the fair include airlines and aviation service providers like Jet2.com, Dnata, and Up & Away Aviation.

Retail operators such as Pret a Manger, JD Sports, and World Duty Free will also be present, as well as hotel groups including Doubletree Hilton and Holiday Inn/Ibis/Tribe Hotels.

Construction firms working on the airport’s £1.3bn transformation programme, like MACE and NG Bailey, will also be recruiting.

The Airport Academy, a joint initiative by Manchester Airport and Trafford College, will also be at the jobs fair, promoting its free pre-employment support programs.

These include fully accredited training schemes for those on Jobseekers’ Allowance who require additional support before applying for jobs.

Charity Smartworks will have a stand promoting its “Fashion as a Force for Good” campaign, which provides suits and formal attire to women from disadvantaged backgrounds ahead of job interviews.

Manchester Airport managing director, Chris Woodroofe, said: “We are proud to serve the North, and that doesn’t just mean getting people away on their holidays and business trips – we are also very aware of our responsibilities as a major regional employer.
