Elizabeth Hurley has been working tirelessly for the past 30 years to bring a touch of glamour to British culture. She first gained fame in the early 1990s, making her debut in the film Rowing with the Wind in 1988, a biopic about Mary Shelley with Hugh Grant playing Lord Byron.

Hurley’s big break came in the 1992 film Passenger 57, starring Wesley Snipes, where she played a henchwoman disguised as a flight attendant. She then took on the lead role in Mad Dogs and Englishmen in 1995, playing an upper-class heroin addict who starts a relationship with her drug courier.

She is probably best known for her role in the Austin Powers movies as Vanessa Kensington, a top spy and love interest of Mike Myers’ character. Off-screen, she became famous for wearing a daring dress with safety pins to the British premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Throughout her career, Hurley has appeared in films such as Bedazzled (as the Devil), Permanent Midnight (opposite Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson), Serving Sara (with Matthew Perry), Viktor (a film noir with Gérard Depardieu), and three consecutive Christmas movies.

Earlier this year, she starred in Strictly Confidential, the debut film of her son Damien, a murder mystery set in the world of swimwear, which she emphasized was not an erotic thriller.

On television, she has appeared in all four seasons of The Royals, as well as Runways and Gossip Girl. She also owns her own beachwear line, models for Estée Lauder, and stars in the new “Duh, Debenhams!” Christmas commercial.
