New Song ‘Unbelonging’ Released by Cloakroom

Cloakroom has signed a deal with Closed Casket Activities, and they have announced this exciting news with the release of a new single titled ‘Unbelonging’. The band also shared a music video for the track, which was filmed during their recent European tour. You can watch the video below.

Describing the new song, the band stated, “It’s a pop song that exudes 140 bpm of optimism but can also quickly unravel and dishearten, just as easily as it captivates – think Cloakroom meets Psychedelic Furs.” They also talked about the video, saying, “Similar to a ceremonial dagger, all the lyrics for the new album were written in darkness, mostly in a moving vehicle, often after leaving bars in border towns. That’s why we opted for a ‘found footage’ style for the video.”

According to a press release, the band’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Dissolution Wave’, is set to be released next year. ‘Unbelonging’ and the other tracks were recorded in December 2023 with engineer Zac Montez at Electrical Audio in Chicago and Rec Room Recording in Des Plaines, Illinois.
