Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is all set to hand out the quality certificates to home buyers. It has taken a much-anticipated step. As per the move, the details about the quality of the construction material used and the workmanship will also be included in the certificate.
The report has been confirmed by Gautam Chatterjee, Chairman, MahaRERA. According to the officials, the authority will grant Form 2A, which will act as a quality certification. From raw material used to the skill level of the labor employed, all the details of the construction will be available in the detail.
The supervising engineer on the project must ascertain that the quality of the construction adheres to National Building Code (NBC), as per Form 2A. Every real estate project registered with MahaRERA after December 1, 2018 is required to submit quarterly information in Form 2A to implement the move.
By the end of each quarter, the information collected from all the registered projects will be uploaded. Currently, over 22 lakh homes are under construction in Maharashtra. Apart from this, more than 22,000 projects and 21,000 agents have been registered by the authority till date.
